Choose Your Own Adventure Coaching

Everyone’s process for writing a book is different, and what might be helpful for an author at the beginning of a project might be very different as that initial idea becomes a rough draft, and that in turn is polished into a manuscript. At Book Bound Coaching, we believe in meeting writers where they are at all stages of the process. With coaching packages based on your needs and budget, everyone can get started on the path to publication with Choose Your Own Adventure Coaching!

 Coaching and Editing FAQs

  • A book coach wears many hats—mentor, editor, sounding board for creative ideas, and cheerleader. As a committed partner with a vested interest in your success, we provide accountability, consistency, and independent expertise. For a more in-depth look at book coaching, read my article The Ins and Outs of Book Coaching.

  • While editing is a service book coaches may provide, developmental and copy editing is considered a one-time service for hire and is undertaken after a manuscript is complete. If an editor discovers underlying structural issues with your story, you may be facing a page one rewrite. A coach seeks to prevent these type of issues from occuring.

  • If you’re looking into coaching and editing because something doesn’t feel quite right with your story, that points to the fact that you need a new perspective on your draft. Other reasons you may be ready for a coach include:

You’ve had an idea in your head for a novel for a year or more, but you simply don’t know how to get started.

You start writing chapters, but never seem to get to the end of the story.

Your give your pages to family and friends for input, but their guidance isn’t helpful.

  • All pages submitted for coaching must be written in Word or Google Docs with 1 inch margins, double-spacing, in Times New Roman font.

  • Your privacy matters at Book Bound Coaching. Please be assured that, as with every publishing professional, your words, intellectual property, and identity are never shared with any third parties.

  • All prices quoted are in USD. We accept all major credit cards, personal check, and Afterpay (for services over $1000). There will be a $35.00 USD charge for returned checks.

Coaching packages are billed monthly. There are no refunds after invoices are paid.

We are a values driven company. As such, we never require our clients to purchase multi-month packages.
